2.3.5

Skills, folders in Drive, contact and company detail pages, video and YouTube analysis in chat, Gmail forwarding, and mobile-to-web account management.

Released June 22, 2026.

Introducing Skills — reusable workflows you can teach Brie and share with your Cloud. Drive gets folders, breadcrumbs, and move-to-folder. Contacts and Companies get dedicated detail pages with inline editing. Upload videos and analyze YouTube links directly in chat. Plus Gmail forwarding, Asana and Teams improvements, mobile-to-web account management, and dozens of fixes.

Skills (New Feature)

  • Teach Brie a repeatable workflow: Build reusable skill packs that extend what Brie can do — each skill bundles an instruction file plus any supporting files you want, so you can teach a workflow once and use it across every chat
  • Cloud Settings → Skills tab: A dedicated area for browsing, creating, editing, and deleting skills, with personal and Cloud-wide groupings, search, and quick filters
  • Built-in editor: Author skills in a Markdown editor with live preview, and add or rename files and subfolders directly inside a skill
  • Personal or shared with the Cloud: Choose whether a skill is just for you or shared with everyone in your Cloud
  • Enable / disable per skill: Flip a skill off without deleting it — disabled skills stay in your list but won't be applied to chats
  • Use skills in chat with /: Type /SkillName in the chat input to apply a skill — matching tokens light up as a colored pill so you can see what's active before you send
  • Skill Files in Drive: A new Skill Files section in Drive shows every file that belongs to one of your skills, labeled by skill, so it's easy to find and manage skill content from one place
  • Available on paid plans: Skills creation and editing is included with paid plans; free plans can view existing skill details

Folders in Drive (New Feature)

  • Create folders: Pick "Folder" from the upload menu, name it, and it lands wherever you're viewing
  • Navigate with breadcrumbs: Open a folder to see only its contents, with a breadcrumb trail at the top so you always know where you are
  • Move files and folders: A new "Move to folder" action lets you drop any item into a folder or back out to the top level
  • Shortcuts for shared items: When you move something you don't own, a shortcut lives in your folder while the original stays with its owner — and you can remove a shortcut without touching the original
  • Privacy-aware moves: If you move a private file into a shared folder, we warn you that the file stays private — the folder's other members still won't see it
  • Delete folders safely: Delete an empty folder with one click, or get a clear "this folder isn't empty" confirmation before removing a folder with contents
  • Uploads land where you are: Files uploaded while a folder is open are placed directly into that folder
  • Reliable refresh after moves: Files appear in their destination folder immediately — no more refreshing to see what you just moved

Video & YouTube in Chat (New Feature)

  • Upload videos directly into chat: MP4, MOV, and WebM files can be dropped into a conversation and Brie will analyze them — ask about meeting recordings, demos, or screen captures the same way you do with documents
  • YouTube link analysis: Paste any YouTube URL into a chat and Brie pulls the video apart for you — summaries, key points, or answers to a specific question. You'll see an "analyzing YouTube video…" status while she works
  • Bigger uploads: The per-file size limit has been raised from 60 MB to 100 MB so longer recordings and bigger documents fit
  • Ask follow-ups: Video and YouTube analysis are part of the conversation, so you can immediately follow up with "translate that to Spanish" or "turn those takeaways into a doc"

Gmail connector updates — forward, mark read, accurate counts

  • Forward emails from chat: Ask Brie to forward an email to someone, optionally with a note above the original — she builds a proper "Fwd:" with the standard quoted-message header
  • Mark messages read or unread: A new mark-as-read/unread action lets you clean up your inbox in the flow of a conversation
  • Accurate "how many unread" answers: Email counts now come from Gmail's own total estimate instead of only the page Brie fetched, so questions like "how many unread emails do I have?" return realistic numbers (labeled as approximate) instead of capping at 10

Other connector improvements

  • Clearer "Add Custom MCP" button: The connector action and its drawer title now read "Add Custom MCP" so it's obvious you're creating your own custom connector
  • Asana — set due date and assignee at creation: Brie can now populate Due Date and Assignee when creating tasks, not just when updating them
  • Asana — create subtasks in one shot: Ask for a task with subtasks ("create 'Launch plan' with subtasks 'Draft', 'Review', 'Send'") and Brie creates them all at once
  • Asana & Teams — friendlier errors: When something goes wrong, you'll see a readable explanation instead of a raw error code
  • Teams — more reliable "send a message to someone": Direct messages no longer accidentally land in ad-hoc meeting threads
  • MCP servers that don't use a client secret now connect: And if a server refuses the registration step, the error tells you how to fix it — set the Client ID and Client Secret yourself in Advanced settings

Mobile-to-web account management

  • Manage your plan from the mobile app: A new "Account" link in the Emerge.ai mobile app opens directly into your billing settings on the web
  • Smart sign-in handoff: When you arrive from mobile we always show a fresh sign-in screen so you land on the exact account you want — works for both email/password and social sign-in
  • No upsell nag on billing: The free-plan upgrade modal no longer pops up while you're already on the billing or plans page
  • Change a member's role right after inviting them from mobile: The "Unable to change user role" error after inviting a teammate from the mobile app is fixed

Smarter chat conversations

  • Faster, smoother file uploads in chat: The uploader no longer freezes on "100% complete" while a file is being indexed — uploads close right away
  • Indexing happens in the background: Files appear in your chat input immediately with a subtle loading state and finish preparing for AI in the background, with automatic retry on slow files
  • "Just Me" chats stay personal: Adding someone to a project no longer accidentally pulls them into your private "Just Me" chats inside that project

AI models

  • Custom models stay usable after your usage cap: Custom (bring-your-own) AI models now bypass the Fast & Free fallback, so they remain visible and selectable even after you've hit your daily usage limit
  • Custom model choice preserved: Sending or retrying a message on a custom model no longer gets silently swapped to the fallback model
  • Custom models are private to your Cloud: Custom models added in a Cloud are scoped to that Cloud only and never appear in another Cloud's picker
  • Consistent picker order: Models in the picker are sorted by an explicit order so the list stays in sync with how it is configured, and inactive global models are hidden from the picker entirely

AI usage tracking — smarter defaults

  • Cleaner empty state: Daily and weekly usage meters now show a clean 0% when you have no usage against a threshold, instead of an empty state
  • Works for shared subscriptions: If your AI usage is tied to a subscription that lives in a different Cloud, the Usage tab now resolves it correctly instead of erroring
  • Works in lockdown mode: Locked-down Clouds can still display token usage in the Usage tab

Profile menu shortcut

  • Plan and Billing in the profile menu: A new "Plan and Billing" shortcut in the profile dropdown takes you straight to your subscription settings
  • One marketing home: The logo, "Back" on login, "More" on the homepage, profile sign-out, Cloud-picker sign-out, "log out of all devices", the post-account-deletion redirect, and the 404 "Back to Home" link all now point to Emerge.ai's public website
  • Verify-email "Back to home" lands on login: The button after email verification now takes you to the login screen instead of the marketing homepage

Bug fixes

  • Remove member from a shared project: When a project was shared with "Everyone," removing an individual member previously did nothing — you can now drop a single person and the project automatically converts to a private list of the remaining members
  • Chat templates remember their selection: Closing and reopening chat settings now preserves the chat's current template instead of resetting it to empty
  • Consistent file sizes everywhere: File sizes in the Drive list, grid, and file info panel now always match — and they match what you see when you download the file
  • "Others" tab cleaned up in Drive: The Others tab now shows only truly uncategorized files (RTF, markdown, and unknown types) instead of duplicating items that already appear under Images, Video, Audio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF
  • Favoriting files works in every Cloud: Drive favorites now scope correctly to the Cloud you're in
  • Lockdown applies on Cloud load: A Cloud's lockdown setting now takes effect right when you open the Cloud, instead of after a refresh
  • Filter by Person actually returns the right records: Filters like "Owner equals someone" or "Created By equals someone" now match the records you'd expect
  • Contact lookups load reliably: Contact pickers and references resolve correctly across the app
  • Readable toasts in the blue theme: Toast descriptions are no longer rendered as unreadable gray text on the dark blue background

Contacts & Companies feature updates (Beta)

  • Detail pages: Clicking a contact or company opens a full detail page with inline editing on every field
  • Smarter contact form: Phone numbers auto-format as you type, and you can link or create a company directly from the form
  • Job Title and Mobile: New Job Title field and a properly-labeled Mobile column in the table and drawer
  • Hashtag search and "not contains" filter: Type #vip to filter by tag, or exclude records with the new "not contains" operator
  • Teammates labeled: Contacts whose email matches a Cloud member are recognized as platform users at a glance

Tasks feature updates (Beta)

  • Cleaner assignee picker: Teammates who share a display name are no longer collapsed, and every row shows their email
  • Safer task creation: Required title is enforced, past due dates are blocked, and long forms scroll inside the dialog
  • Completed tasks are read-only: Editing is disabled until you reopen the task, so a stray save can't push changes through
  • Sharper views: The "Completed" view stays focused on completed work, and "Shared with me" excludes tasks you own

Latest AI model upgrades

  • Sharper image generation with Nano Banana 2: Image generation now runs on Google's latest Nano Banana 2 model — faster results, higher-fidelity output up to 4K, noticeably better text rendering inside images, and improved instruction-following
  • Gemini 3.5 Flash added: Google's newest fast model is now selectable in the model picker

  • 2.3.0 — the previous release
  • Skills — what a skill is and how to invoke one with /SkillName
